If you were to build something, yet didn’t think you
had the abilities or know how to do it, what would you do?
If you wanted to build a new home, yet lacked the skills to
design, plan, gather the material and build it utilizing the
proper tools, what would you do? Would you hire an architect
to design it? Would you hire someone to construct the home
for you? Would you attempt to build it anyway utilizing the
“learn as you go” approach? Or would you combine
the two approaches?
The home is where it all begins. The home
is the archetypal portrayal of us. It is that special place
that absorbs and radiates our energy and becomes all the things
that make us...us. The home is where the mind rests, the dreamer
dreams, the chef cooks, the gardens blossom, the creative
artist creates and the body is cleansed and maintained.
How do we even begin to build such a home? Well, let’s
disregard our introductory paragraph for a moment. You don’t
really have to build a new home from the ground up because
your home is already in place. It is the wondrous self-loving
figure you look upon each day in the mirror. What’s
that you say? Not feeling too wonderful these days? Well,
at this point, we are setting a goal for ourselves to make
this wonderful self-loving person even more loving and more
wonderful. Most of us see at least one thing that displeases
us when we look in the mirror. We tend to magnify our faults
and this is something we will probably always have to work
on overcoming.
In one respect, this is
a home-improvement course, but not in a traditional sense.
In building our new home, we are improving on ourselves. Our
new home, therefore, is a process of internal renovation.
We are going to cleanse ourselves from the inside out and
by doing so discover hidden talents and attributes that have
been dormant for a long time. The average person has little
idea what he or she is capable of until perceptual awareness
is redirected inward. The heart is where one’s greater
potential resides and a flutter of inspiration here and there
will get you everywhere.
Did we mention that there are two permanent residents already
living in your home? The two residents that have always lived
with you are your ego and your spirit. Does this not ring
true when you think about it? Have you not felt on occasion
that there are two halves inside of you, each trying to influence
your decision making? Have you ever felt like you were being
pulled in two directions at the same time? Your spirit is
usually confined to the basement, while your ego dominates
the rest of your home. Your ego is like the spoiled child
who always wants to make him or herself heard and nearly always
gets what it wants. By undertaking the construction of a new
home, you are going to change the nature of the two relationships
by allowing your spirit to come up from the basement and slowly
make its presence known throughout the rest of your new home.
You see, your spirit, even though you have been out of touch
with it, is your long forgotten friend who has always been
in closest proximity with you. Your ego is also a friend,
however, the ego tends to keep the focus of your reality centered
around mundane and unproductive activities because you have
long been conditioned by it. The ego is also very fearful
and has a tendency to turn on you when faced with a difficult
situation. The spirit is the root force of love that comforts
and carries you through life’s most difficult moments.
The building materials for this new world have always been
available to you. The blueprints of your new home can be found
hovering in the midst of your being. You merely have to allow
the shell of the new you to take shape. You also possess the
tools you need to build your own internal structure. You merely
have to learn how to access these tools and your spirit is
the key. We do not provide you with tools to build this new
you. We can only teach you how to access the tools you already
have. The new home that you are building is created from the
light and love of God’s energy.
You have the innate ability to change your reality and this
process coincides with the building of a new home in spirituality.
Nearly as soon as you break ground on this construction project,
you’ll begin to affect those around you because those
that we are closest to are part of our mini reality. It is
important to consider that your new home can, in no way, be
constructed overnight. We live in a relatively fast paced,
quick fix society. If you are looking for a quick fix course
in spiritual development, then you may be in the wrong place.
A quick fix course in spiritual development may satisfy some
want or need on the surface, but true spiritual development
is found within the deepest core of our foundation. The emergence
of spirituality is a process of gentle cultivation. As the
petals of a small flower slowly unfold to absorb more light
from the sun, your conscious awareness slowly expands to encompass
a wider aspect of reality. Your perception changes for the
better. Greater potential is seen not as an unobtainable fantasy,
but as a piece of the new reality you can bring forth. Your
new home of spirituality begins to take shape.
During the process of building this new spiritual home, it’s
hard to see the progress being made from within. Progress
is more readily apparent through revitalized feeling, heightened
intuitive awareness and a growing sense of knowingness that
you are being pulled upward in the direction of positive change
and transformation. We might find ourselves taking a second
glance in the mirror with a new sense of hope, faith, self-appreciation
and self-acceptance.
So you see, everything you need to expand your reality and
build your new home is housed within your spirit. You already
have access to everything you need. You build your new home
from the sacred space within you. Your true home is a holy
sanctuary built within the greater house of God. When you
build, others will build along side of you to create a new
community that expands exponentially to sprinkle the landscape
of a new global community. We have the ability to bring peace
on earth. We each need to do our part.
