The masters are quite simply, those who have gone before us.
They were men and women just like us who have gone through the
cycle of birth, death and re-birth (otherwise known as reincarnation)
numerous times and through service to God and their fellow brothers
and sisters, have made their transition to the highest realm
of spiritual existence, the Kingdom of Heaven. They have traversed
the long and arduous journey of physical existence just as we
are doing now. Most have suffered greatly along the way, experiencing
many hardships and even torture, yet managed to press on with
diligent effort and a sincere faith in God. The master has reunited
completely with his or her soul and exists “AT-ONE”
in the great ocean of spirit. In short, the master has moved
permanently beyond the existence of flesh and bone. We would
make an important point here that the master does not have to
depart the Earthbound plane of life to exist in the highest
realm of spirit.
One of the most appropriate ways to describe the masters
is to see them as elder brothers and sisters. We are all children
of God and have the inherent potential to learn, grow within
ourselves and become full-fledged Sons and Daughters of God.
Therefore, we are all brothers and sisters of one universal
family. The masters are full-fledged Sons and Daughters of
God. We refer to this accomplishment as reaching the age of
spiritual maturity. Humanity as a whole is at the infancy
stage and slowly beginning to take baby steps toward this
wondrous goal.
The masters are ones who have gone before us and now stand
ready to show us the way. We place heavy emphasis on showing
us the way, because that is all they can and will do for us.
Each person has an individual responsibility to improve him
or herself through self-study or study of self, self-development
and to eventually merge into the full spiritual maturity of
the master living in accordance with the Holy Spirit. Every
person’s eventual destiny is to seek self-mastery because
it is an integral part of the evolutionary process. We would
reiterate once again that the masters serve to guide and support
us in our efforts, but never to do the work for us that we
must do for ourselves.
Describing the specific functions of the Masters is beyond
the scope of this learning module. Not only that, but delving
into matters of which we cannot possibly conceive is of little
value. During your quest for higher knowledge, you will, in
all likelihood, come across a myriad of information on the
Ascended Masters. You will come to learn which master sits
where in the spiritual hierarchy and what their respective
jobs are. Channeled information provides prophetic messages
of either hope, doom and gloom or downright oblivion for the
earth. The question you must ask yourself is this. Does the
information really concern you and does it benefit your quest
for higher knowledge? The quality of the information is something
only you can decide and again, whether it is of value to you
is something that you are going to have to discern for yourself.
With respect to the insight we just shared, we offer a word
to the wise concerning the Masters. It is unwise to focus
your attention on what the masters can do for you. If you
call to them, they will come. Experiencing the energetic presence
of an ascended master is without a doubt very unique, exhilarating
and bound to make believers out of nonbelievers. We encourage
the novice student to do so at least for the initial experience.
However, getting carried away with the practice and calling
to them regularly can lead to what we might define as a false
sense of security. Remember that the Masters are here to show
us the way and assist us. They are not here to tap us on the
head with a magic wand and lift us into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Not only is this an endeavor we must do for ourselves, it
is required by cosmic law. In short, some students place far
to much emphasis on the Ascended Masters. In some instances,
the ascended masters are worshipped and such practices are
misleading. The material presented herein is geared for individual
self-mastery. In other words, the focus centers on the individual
soul (God Within) and not on 'external entities,' including
'masters.'
We provided and overview of the Guru/Disciple relationship
in the newcomer orientation. Let us elaborate on that a bit
more now and also provide a sneak preview regarding the in-depth
nature of this relationship. The Guru/Disciple relationship
does in fact exist within you and you will, for the most part,
engage in the art of teaching yourself. The all wise soul
teacher within your heart teaches the spirit within you everything
you need to know. Through continued practice, you will learn
through experience, perceived mistakes and all that life has
to offer. Though very slowly, you will steadily progress and
establish for your new home a solid foundation on the rock
of God.
Though you will continually engage in learning directly from
God through your soul, you do indeed have a master over you,
so to speak. Your master may be a full fledged ascended master
or other high level spiritual entity. Not to burst your bubble,
but the chances of that are highly unlikely, considering that
there are six billion plus inhabitants on the earth and the
number of ascended masters are few and far between. Who on
earth could it be then? It is much more likely that your master
is a spouse, mom, dad, brother, sister, friend or foe. Scary
proposal? Sound a bit far fetched? It's not when we attempt
to clarify what our existing perception of a master might
be. Your master is a person. That much is certain. Whether
the person exists along side of you on the earthbound plane
or an unseen capacity is yet to be discovered. Either way,
it is best not to perceive the relationship between you and
your master in the traditional framework of face to face interaction
that we are used to. Rather, from the invisible interactive
perspective of the adjoining auric energy fields and we would
draw your attention back to our motto of Reach In and Touch
Someone. The auric energy field of your master and your auric
energy field are connected. Your master's auric energy field
is the next higher step in vibration on your particular string
of the infinite matrix.
Furthermore, a master does not have 'many' disciples. The
master has only one disciple. Just one. Though we've read
stories about the many disciples sitting at the feet of the
wise master yearning to learn the greater mysteries, with
the disciples of Jesus being the most popular, we tend to
draw erroneous conclusions as to the nature of such relationships
based on our individual perspective.
The master-disciple relationship always comes in twos. You
may not know or even have a clue as to who your master is
for quite a while. In some instances, you may not find out
until you have engaged in the pursuit of higher ground for
many years. This is so because upon discovering the identity
of your master, there is a tendency to overly focus on him
or her for assisting you when the general rule is to help
yourself. This tendency, however, is a perfectly natural response
of the human personage. The personage, namely the ego will
look for any excuse possible to shift attention away from
itself. The master will provide nudges here and there, but
the goal is to master yourself through the kinship you develop
with your soul.
As far as we students are concerned, The function of the
master, regardless of who it is or in what capacity he/she
exists (physical/nonphysical), is to 'feed' you energy. This
feeding or transference of energy is a process that happens
automatically through the governance of the Holy Spirit. How
big your appetite is depends entirely on your openness to
continue tasting the fruits of greater potential. With that
in mind, consider the following words.
God will not do for woman what she must do
for herself.
God will not do for man what he must do for
himself.
You have everything that you need to scale the heights of
greater spiritual experience. The unabiding love of God leads
you from within and sustains you throughout your entire journey.
There is nothing to fear, although that is much easier said
than done. Initially, this concept may seem hard to grasp.
But, do not all things seem impossible at first? We simply
start with the basics, work steadily and allow our vision
to manifest into one of reality.
Lastly, with regard to 'looking for your master,' it is wise
not to look so much to the heavens above for your 'white knight'
to come to your rescue. Looking to those around you is much
more realistic. We are all the same and your master is of
equal par with you. The only thing your master has over you
is experience.
